PALS - Patient Advice and Liaison Service
PALS can help when you need advice, want answers to questions, want to know who to talk to or find out how to get help.
As a patient, relative or carer sometimes you may need to ask someone for on-the-spot help, advice and support to sort out any concerns or problems that you may have about any aspect of NHS care. The service provides:
- advice and support to patients, their families and carers
- information on NHS services
- help to sort out problems quickly on your behalf and listen to your concerns, suggestions or queries
PALS acts independently when handling patient and family concerns, liaising with staff, managers and, where appropriate, relevant organisations, to negotiate prompt solutions. If necessary, PALS can also refer patients and families to specific local or national-based support agencies.
PALS is available Mon-Fri 0900-4.30. Outside of these hours you can leave a message on an answer-machine and you will be contacted the next working day. You can also send an SMS text to PALS at 01670 511098.
